India

India 2004 (Varanasi -> Agra -> New Delhi -> Kolkata)

+
I had to wake up at 5am and go to the 'pier' at 5:30am in order to see the sunrise...

That's worth
to do so

+
I didn't notice
there were some other boats as it's dark when we
got on the boat

+
Apart from tourists, local India also woke up very early...

+
See...boats and tourists 'everywhere'

+
That's the place for burning dead body

+
So romantic...

+
Sunrise or Sunset?

+
Of course, it's sunrise

+
When a place is explored as a sight-seeing place, it's started to have many tourists

+
I am traveller, not tourists

+
What's the difference?

+
Hahaha...

+
Beautiful...

+
Amazing...

+
Back to the question, why the local India woke up so early? Answer: To take a shower at Ganga

+
River Ganga

+
Transport for kids

+
What should we do after taking shower there?

+
I can't remember what are they?

+
It seems that the river is clean and nice

+
Should be parade

+
When you get closer to the river, you will see rubbish, ashes and sh...i...t, perhaps, I am not sure :-P

+
Ashes? Yes, after burning the dead body, all ashes go to the river

+
Apart from taking shower, what do India do in the river?

+
They swim
in the river

+
They play
in the river

+
They wash their clothes in the river

+
What else?

+
I will show you later

+
What are they for?

+
You can have India massage there, you can try, ladies, if you are brave enough

+
Men can also
shave there

+
No need to do
it by yourself

+
Bare foot...I found many people are bare foot. Why?

+
I got some answers from my India friend. 1) Many shoes are made by cow skin, India don't want to wear since cow is regarded as 'saint' animal. 2) They are encouraged to bare their foot instead of wearing any shoes.
3) They are poor and don't have enough money to buy any shoes

+
This kid followed me for half an hour for selling postcards

+
Another massage place?

+
Peaceful river

+
I have ever seen those rounded shape eggplants

+
A night show?

+
It's a ceremony

+
To thank those Gods to protect their area

+
Parade...

+
Kids

+
They are siblings. Guy on the left and gal on the right

+
Here's the answer, but do you still remember the question?

+
The qusetion is 'Apart from taking shower, what do the local do in the river?' The answer is 'wedding ceremony'

+
Christian and Catholic go to church for wedding ceremony, India go to the river...interesting!

+
Somebody said 'never do laundry in India'. Why? Get the answer from this picture?

+
They wash their clothes there...

+
Who is he? Sorry, I don't know but I am sure that he is India, HAHAHA...

+
Cows everywhere...

+
Ooops, come on, the river is not only a swimming pool for people

+
Also for cows...

+
Cow: I am clean, hehe...

+
Beautiful place

+
Back to the ceremony

+
Many people gathered there, someone sold snacks there, I would really like to try but...

Conclusion: I like Varanasi very very much

Is that a joke?

They are everywhere

Cute!

I only expected I could only see it in the Middle East

It was my dream to go to Agra to see Taj Mahal

It's wonderful place

Mum and son

Two lovely kids

Other gate

Nice gal, oh...I like her orange clothes

Sunset

The same

I met a New Zealand uncle in Taj Mahal

He paid an India guy some money to get a tips of getting a good location to take a picture of Taj Maha, that's the best view, do you think so?

In Kolkata

Sunset as well

I like the temple near this area. All people should be bare foot in the temple area

I quite enjoyed the feeling of walking around the temple with bare foot

Disgusting...

Kolkata is the most dirty place in India (I was told).

The chicken roll there was excellent, yummy ;-P
